Summary
What happened, as the record shows.
Witnesses saw the woman in the building's rooftop cafe on the morning of October 29, 2004, before she opened a window and jumped. Her body was found in the River Brent at the foot of the tower. She was described as a Black woman aged 20 to 40, about 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 3 inches, wearing smart clothing, a maroon bomber jacket, black trousers, and black Skechers boots, with jewelry including a silver cowrie shell ring and earrings. She carried no phone, bank card, or identification, but had a plastic carrier bag marked CPNY, 5.20 pounds in cash, a disposable lighter, a used packet of Marlboro cigarettes, a small oil painting, a copy of The Guardian bought in the building, and a weekly bus pass issued at Seven Sisters Road, Tottenham. Because the death was ruled a suicide, there is no homicide investigation, no arrest, and no conviction; the remaining question is identity, pursued through a charity forensic-artist appeal.
