Veronica Jill Blumhorst, 21, left her grocery store job in Mendota, Illinois, at 1:05 a.m. on September 21, 1990, drove four blocks home, parked her car in the detached garage, and never entered her house, according to the FBI ViCAP record. None of her belongings have ever been recovered. Her sister has said her boyfriend told police statements indicating he had killed her, but with no explicit confession, no physical evidence and no body, he was released without charge and has never been charged. He is presumed innocent.
