Timmothy Pitzen, 6, was checked out of Greenman Elementary in Aurora, Illinois, by his mother on May 11, 2011. She took him to a zoo and a water park. She was later found dead by suicide in Rockford, leaving a note saying Timmothy was safe with people who would care for him but would never be found. He remains missing. A man who falsely claimed to be Pitzen in 2019 was charged for that hoax, not for the disappearance.
