Summary

What happened, as the record shows.

A woman was found in a burning dumpster beside a factory on Wadhams Road in St. Clair Township, Michigan, on May 26, 2003. The original autopsy listed acute intoxication, and a later medical examiner questioned whether an accidental overdose matched the body being burned. She had no dental work and may have broken her pelvis in the last year or two of her life. Investigators believe she may have come from Detroit and gone by the nickname Nessie or Nessy. DNA profiles were established in 2009, the FBI issued a ViCAP alert in June 2024, and she remains unidentified. No one has been arrested.
