Summary

What happened, as the record shows.

Ruth Penelope 'Penny' Bell, 43, a businesswoman and mother of two, was found stabbed more than 50 times in the driver's seat of her Jaguar in the Gurnell Leisure Centre car park in Greenford, London, on June 6, 1991. It was a busy public lot; no witnesses came forward, her handbag was untouched, and there was no sexual assault. Three days earlier she had withdrawn an unaccounted-for 8,500 pounds in cash, and she left home that morning for a 9:50 a.m. appointment that never existed. More than 8,000 people were interviewed; no one was ever charged. Her daughter offered a 20,000-pound reward in 2021.
