Molly Marie Young, of Carbondale, Illinois, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head on March 24, 2012, in the apartment of her ex-boyfriend. A 911 call at 9:03 a.m. reported an overdose; a second call at 9:10 a.m. reported she had been shot. A coroner's inquest jury in January 2013 ruled the manner of death undetermined. Her father's civil wrongful-death suit was dismissed on statute-of-limitations grounds, and his records fight produced an Illinois law signed July 19, 2016. No criminal charge has ever been filed in connection with her death.
