Summary
What happened, as the record shows.
Melanie Renee Metheny, 21, left her Campbell's Creek residence on the morning of July 19, 2006 with her two children and the child of her boyfriend. She dropped the boyfriend's child at a grandparent's home and her own two children at Country Kids Daycare on East Dupont Avenue in Belle at about 8 a.m. She told family and daycare workers she planned to pick up her transcripts at Garnett Career College in Charleston and deliver them to West Virginia State College, and neither school reported contact with her that day. Her cell phone records showed two calls between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. placed from the western Kanawha and eastern Putnam County areas. She never returned to pick up her children, and her van was found on July 23, 2006 parked on the West Side of Charleston. No arrest or named suspect appears in the sources reviewed, and she remains missing.
