Summary
What happened, as the record shows.
Marilyn Jaz Scott, 28, was a staff sergeant in the Air National Guard and three months pregnant. On a February morning in 2017 she was found lying next to her car outside her Bel Air, Maryland home, keys still in hand, as she was heading out to start her car for the commute to the Air National Guard offices in New Castle. She had been shot twice in the chest and once in the head. A break-in at her home had been reported days earlier, in which nothing was taken. A Harford County detective said publicly that whoever came to the house came to kill her. Police have said there is not enough evidence to prosecute anyone, and no one has been arrested or charged. Anyone discussed in connection with the case is presumed innocent unless charged and convicted.
