Summary

What happened, as the record shows.

Madeline Kelly Edman was 15 and lived on the north side of La Crosse, Wisconsin. On July 29, 2005, she went with her mother to a laundromat at St. James and Caledonia Streets, helped get the laundry started, and then left to walk home while her mother stayed behind. When her mother arrived home a short time later, Madeline was not there, and she has not been heard from since. Investigators classified the disappearance as an endangered runaway, and reported sightings in the months that followed were never confirmed. Wisconsin's missing persons poster notes her distinguishing features, including a blue right eye and a brown left eye, a scar, and several tattoos, and her photo has been age progressed. Her mother died in 2010, and her obituary listed Madeline as a surviving daughter.
