Summary
What happened, as the record shows.
Lucille Katherine Page, known as Kathy, was 34, worked as a waitress in Beaumont, and lived in Vidor with her two daughters. In the early morning of May 14, 1991, a newspaper carrier found her car in a drainage ditch alongside Interstate 10, about 100 yards from her home, with Page dead in the driver's seat. The car was barely damaged, and an autopsy showed she had been strangled and that the crash scene had been staged. Her father James Fulton later put up billboards criticizing the investigation, and her case drew renewed attention as the reported inspiration for the billboards in the film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Her husband Steve Page has been described in reporting as a person of interest, has denied involvement, and has never been criminally charged. The Texas Rangers list the case on their unsolved homicides program, and it remains unsolved.
