Summary
What happened, as the record shows.
Cheryl Edwards, 25, and Charlita Singleton, 36, were working at the All for $1 store at Cloverleaf Mall on November 7, 1996. When Singleton failed to return home, her family reported her missing; both families met a patrol officer in the mall parking lot around 5:15 a.m. on November 8, and Chesterfield County Police Lt. Robert Skowron used a store key to enter the back door into the office, where he found both women stabbed multiple times with the safe open. Police are reported to have pursued every lead and hit dead ends; a possible 2004 break produced no progress, and later coverage describes investigators as no closer than at the start. No arrest has ever been reported.
