Bethany Leanne Markowski, 11, vanished on a court ordered weekend visit with her father in Jackson, Tennessee, on March 4, 2001. She was picked up at the Waverly exit on Interstate 40 on March 2, and her last confirmed contact by anyone other than her father was a call from Gleason, Tennessee, on the morning of March 4. Her father later said he let Bethany enter Old Hickory Mall alone while he napped in the van, and she was never seen on mall security footage in the coverage reviewed. He reported her missing to mall security that evening. No arrests have ever been made and no charges have ever been filed, and she was never found.

   On March 2, 2001, Bethany is picked up at the Waverly exit on Interstate 40 at 5:00 p.m. for a court ordered visit with her father, Larry Markowski.

   On March 4, 2001, at 9:38 a.m., Bethany calls her mother from Gleason, Tennessee, in what coverage describes as the last confirmed contact by anyone other than her father.

   On March 4, 2001, at 12:12 p.m., Bethany calls her half-sister Jenny from her father's phone, saying they have left Gleason for Old Hickory Mall, but cell tower records place the call near Natchez Trace State Park.

   On March 4, 2001, in the afternoon, her father later says he let Bethany enter Old Hickory Mall alone while he napped in the van, and she is never seen on mall security footage in the coverage reviewed.

5. 2001

   On March 4, 2001, at 5:15 p.m., her father reports her missing to Old Hickory Mall security after she does not arrive for the scheduled 5:00 p.m. return at the Waverly exit.

6. 2001

   On March 4, 2001, at 6:00 p.m., Jackson Police Department and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation personnel arrive on scene.
