Summary
What happened, as the record shows.
Angelica Esperanza Sandoval, 21, vanished from outside her home in Alamosa, Colorado, on February 23, 2011, while unloading laundry from her vehicle. Her brother checked 10 to 15 minutes later and found the vehicle door open, keys in the lock, and her purse, cell phone and cigarettes left behind. Months earlier she had been the victim of a reported home invasion, and she had been scheduled to testify in that case on March 2, 2011. The man accused in that case was in custody when she vanished, and charges were later dismissed because she could not testify. He is presumed innocent. She was never found.
